Erin Davis and Max C Lee are pleased to announce Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:, the fifth iteration of an ever-evolving group exhibition. Housed within the spaces of the former Pfizer pharmaceutical factory, Re: Art Show introduces a new structure to the exhibition format, with no set duration, multiple openings, and a dynamic environment. For its fifth exhibition, artists occupy a large, open, unfinished space with chipped paint, exposed wiring, and fire alarm components dangling from the ceiling.
Re:Re:Re:Re:Re: visualizes the process of evolving ideas of participating artists by allowing them to change, replace, and develop their works as the show progresses. Set a month apart from the show’s previous opening, Re:Re:Re:Re:Re: showcases works by current participating artists alongside newly-invited artists and a series of performances during the opening.
Also occurring on the night of the opening is RE:GROUP, a program of readings, performances, and conversations responding to the results of the recent presidential election. Re: Art Show recognizes the trauma faced by many, and its space is open for anyone to cope, heal, chill and react. Additionally, a portion of RE:GROUP will be designated for any attendee to participate alongside previously scheduled performers. Participating artists in RE:GROUP are Dana Davenport, Georgia Lale, Fana Feng, Reagan Holiday, with others being added until the night of the opening.
Re: Art Show intends to redefine what an exhibition is and how it functions. It aims to meet ever-expanding ideas with an ever-expanding exhibition, thereby creating an amoebic hive of creativity, collaboration, and experimentation that travels with the artist through a duration of their creative practice. The exhibitions will allow artists access to the space for extended periods of time and will have multiple openings and receptions. Consequently, viewers at one opening could have an entirely different experience as viewers at another, possibly without even knowing the one prior existed.
