Privacy Policy
Gallop is a small, independent product. We collect the minimum we need to run the app and we do not sell your data. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account info. When you sign up with Apple, Google, or email and password, we store your email, display name, and (for SSO) the avatar your provider returns.
- App content you create. Lists, saved shows, visit logs, followed galleries, hops, and any bio or profile photo you set.
- Location. Only when you grant permission, and only to surface galleries near you and route walking hops. Location is not stored on our servers — it stays on your device.
- Push tokens. If you enable notifications, we store the Apple Push Notification token assigned to your device so we can send the alerts you opted in to.
- Diagnostic logs. Standard server logs (timestamps, request paths, IPs) kept briefly for debugging and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account working across devices.
- To show your lists, visits, and follows in the app.
- To send a welcome email when you sign up, and the notifications you opt in to.
- To debug, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of vendors to actually run the service:
- Supabase — database, auth, and file storage.
- Resend — transactional email (welcome and account notifications).
- Apple Push Notification service — delivering the push notifications you opt in to.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — if you choose those sign-in methods. We only receive the basic profile fields they return (email, name, avatar).
We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party ad trackers in the app.
Your choices
- Edit your profile at any time inside the app.
- Revoke location access in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Gallop.
- Turn off notificationsin iOS Settings → Notifications → Gallop, or inside the app's settings.
- Delete your account. Inside the app, open Profile → Edit profile and tap Delete account — your profile, lists, saved shows, visits, and follows are removed immediately. You can also request deletion from the web.
Children
Gallop is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
