Roland Gebhardt

We are pleased to present the publication of Pivotal Pieces.

Roland Gebhardt stated, "Pivotal Pieces, as a working concept led me to identify the key works in my career that form the substance of this book. For the discipline of this process of evaluation and self-examination I am indebted to educator and friend, Sandra Kay. Her concept of pivotal pieces is about identifying ‘those pieces that altered the artist’s trajectory of work.’ The concept provided cohesion and clarity to the selection process, identifying contextual connections within the body of the selected work.

The book includes essays by John Bowman and David Eichholtz.
