More from Than Hussein Clark on Gallop

Mathew is pleased to announce Authorizations (L'Aigle à Deux Têtes), Than Hussein Clark's first solo exhibition at Mathew Gallery's New York location. The presentation features new sculptures, textiles, drawings, and video works drawn from the ongoing production design of the artist's forthcoming film Cancellation: Matinee, a repurposing of the two recent biopics of couturier Yves Saint Laurent. These new works continue Clark's exploration of the interlacings between languages of design and histories of desire in the queer present.

Simultaneously, Mathew Gallery's booth at Frieze New York (B32, Frame) will feature a solo presentation by Than Hussein Clark. Further upcoming solo exhibitions by Clark include Futura Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague, and Evelyn Yard, London, as well as MIT List Visual Arts Center with Villa Design Group. Please find images of his recent exhibition The Violet Crab at London's David Roberts Art Foundation on Contemporary Art Daily.

Than Hussein Clark (b. 1981) lives and works in Hamburg and London. Recent solo exhibitions include Sessions (with Christiane Blattmann), Amstel 47, Amsterdam (2014); Vengeance... Oh Libya!, WCW Gallery, Hamburg (2014); and Waves (Das Glückliche Rothschild), Mathew, Berlin (2013).
