Leunora Salihu & Albrecht Schnider

Galerie Thomas Schulte presents a duo exhibition featuring new and past sculptures, by Leunora Salihu, and paintings, by Albrecht Schnider. A Plant. A Person. A Life. - its title taken from a short text written by Schnider - brings together works at the edge of something: abstract and structural, yet organic and full of motion. Salihu's sculptures in different scales, standing, suspended or hung on the wall, carry bodily and architectural references through varied materials from wood and ceramic to plaster and iron. In Schnider's small-format paintings, two interconnected motifs slowly surface: flowers and plants and allusions to portraiture. Through forms that get repeated and extended, a constructed nature unfolds - rooted in life, in living things, and those that are an everyday part of it.
