Boo-Hooray presents Houston Rap, photographs by Peter Beste, chronicling the everyday life of the Houston hip-hop community over 9 years. Peter’s photographs profile noted artists including Bun B of UGK, Willie D of the Geto Boys, K-Rino, Street Military, and Lil’ Troy, as well as community leaders, rappers, producers, businessmen, and family members.

Houston Rap takes you from the projects to the studio to the strip club and back, providing insights into the culture of arguably the most powerful and unique hip-hop scene in the world today.

Peter Beste has published two photography books to date: Houston Rap (Sinecure Books, 2013) and True Norwegian Black Metal (Vice Books, 2008). Peter has exhibited his photography internationally, including in the US, UK, Norway, and Japan. He has also been featured in publications such as Dazed & Confused, Vice, Vibe, Visionaire, and Houston Chronicle.

This exhibit celebrates the new Sinecure Books publication, Houston Rap by Peter Beste, Lance Scott Walker, and Johan Kugelberg, with a foreword by Bun B.

Houston Rap is available for order direct from Sinecure Books in two exclusive editions: a slipcased edition and a deluxe bundle. The deluxe bundle features a 2LP limited vinyl edition of DJ Screw’s All Screwed Up. These exclusive editions are not available in stores.
