Borrowing from Bakhtin we imagine the event as a coming together of consciousnesses. Their event potential is realized at the point of contact or of impact. Events are tied to particular moments, singular situations but their potential and future possibilities cannot be fully predicted or controlled. The works in this exhibition arise out of impacts that are sometimes unexpected, often impulsive, occasionally designed. Their potential meaning takes place in a continuously generative series of future events. The exhibition features work by Alana Lake, Josep Maynou, Simon Mullan, Michael Rupini and Virlani Rupini.
