Bindle is a one-night cooperative exhibition in which bundles of objects are distributed freely through a system of chance.

Artists have been invited to choose a selection of items that can be wrapped up in a small bundle and tied to a stick. Only at the moment when the bindle is opened will its contents be experienced.

Bindle is back by popular demand, following its infamous first iteration at Hood Gallery last August. Individuals were invited to swiftly assemble cherished belongings, items designed to disappear through a debauched system of distribution.

This year, we have asked artists to consider their bindle as an offering to another human. As we collectively take stock of what we own and the different pathways of access we each have, the bindle is never intended to make a lack of resources appear cartoonish. Instead it is an unusual occasion to speak directly to one individual via a small physical gift, and to consider what may become more important in the hands of someone else: to give something away to a random guest as they continue off into the night.

You are invited to arrive between 7 and 9pm to be guaranteed a chance to win a bindle of your (or fate’s) choosing. The free auction begins at 9.
