L'Inconnue presents Orbs & Awe, a solo exhibition featuring artist Marianne Vlaschits.
In her new series of paintings, Vlaschits juxtaposes celestial motifs with the body, using bold shapes and vibrant pop colors and create unique and captivating works.
Marianne Vlaschits (born in 1983, Vienna) lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (2005-2010) and Slade School for Art in London (2009). Her recent solo shows include Phase Transitions, Bildrecht Studio, Vienna (2022), Aurora, Duo with Raphaela Riepl, Galerie Sophia Vonier, Salzburg (2021), Der magnetische Zauber, Suzie Shride, Vienna (2020), A Body That Lasts, Galerie 5020, Salzburg (2020), Der Hase war schuld, Galerie Sophia Vonier, Salzburg (2019), A New Home, Nathalie Halgand Galerie, Vienna (2018), Cake Ceremony, KW Center for Contemporary Art, Berlin (Performance, 2017), A disturbance traveling through a medium, Galerie Duve Berlin, Berlin (2016), and Venus City, Kevin Space, Vienna (2016). Some of her recent achievements include being awarded the Bildrecht Award by the Vienna Contemporary (2020), Artist in Residence at the Grimmuseum, Berlin (2020), Artist in Residence at Hotel Amazonas (2017), and START Stipendium BKA (2015).
