Tiger Strikes Asteroid Los Angeles is proud to present Memory Foam, an exhibition of sculptures at Eastside International (ESXLA).

The exhibit invites the viewer to examine the strange amid the familiar where objects act as holders of memory, drawing nostalgia from comfortable commonplace. The space is both physical and fantasy, both boldly bodily and quietly tenuous. Memory Foam examines these spaces through the intimate investigation of material. Each object both holds and rejects, both admire and recoils, both celebrates and mourns—our familiar space. Much like the couch cushion, Memory Foam, records your body through the wearing of its form.

"...over and beyond our memories, the house we were born into is physically inscribed in us. It is a group of organic habits. After twenty years, in spite of all the other anonymous stairways; we would recapture the reflexes of the "first stairway,” we would not stumble on that rather high step. The house's entire being would open up, faithful to our own being. We would push the door that creaks with the same gesture, we would find our way in the dark to the distant attic. The feel of the tiniest latch has remained in our hands."
