John Divola

Gallery Luisotti is pleased to present Sheila, John Divola’s fifth solo exhibition with the gallery, presented in conjunction with a new book published by TBW Books.

Bringing together rarely seen portraits of Divola’s then-wife, made between 1976 and 1984, Sheila offers a new perspective on a formative period in the artist’s career. Interwoven with photographs from his landmark series—including Vandalism, Los Angeles International Airport Noise Abatement Zone, and Zuma—the exhibition traces the relationship between Divola’s personal photographs and the artistic investigations that would come to define his practice.
