Brigitte Mulholland is delighted to present Love Among the Ruins, a group exhibition curated by George Newall. The show brings nine contemporary artists into conversation with significant historical works by Edward Burne-Jones. The presentation explores the re-emergence of medieval symbolism and mythic themes within contemporary art.

Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898) was an English painter associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. The Pre-Raphaelites were a group of painters, poets, and art critics founded in 1848. The group sought a return to the abundant detail and complex compositions of Quattrocento Italian art. The exhibition borrows its title from a painting by Burne-Jones; itself a reference to a poem, by Robert Browning.
