David Benrimon Fine Art is pleased to present Roy Lichtenstein: Reflections and Reinventions, an exhibition that brings together seminal works by one of the most influential figures of twentieth-century art. Spanning three decades of Lichtenstein's practice, the show traces his transformation of comic imagery, his dialogue with art history, and his continual reinvention of printmaking techniques.

At the heart of the exhibition are Lichtenstein's Water Lilies series (1992), extraordinary reimaginings of Claude Monet's iconic water gardens. In 'Water Lilies with Cloud' and 'Water Lilies with Willows,' the artist translates Impressionist tranquility into the bold language of Pop, layering vibrant screenprint enamel onto monumental sheets of stainless steel. These works merge the delicacy of Monet's brushwork with the industrial clarity of modern materials, highlighting Lichtenstein's ability to honor tradition while making it unmistakably his own. Equally compelling is Nude Reading (1994), a late masterwork from Lichtenstein's celebrated Nudes series. Here, the artist reinterprets his signature Ben-Day dots with striking intimacy, imbuing the composition with a sense of softness and quiet contemplation that contrasts with the dynamism of his earlier Pop imagery.

This exhibition also underscores the artist's lifelong exploration of abstraction and form. Imperfect Diptych (1988) destabilizes geometric order with fractured lines and broken edges, while Modern Head #1 and Modern Head #2 (both 1970) synthesize Cubist and Futurist influences in a distinctly Pop idiom. Together, these works reveal an artist deeply committed to expanding the vocabulary of modern image-making and to redefining the relationship between mass culture and fine art. Lichtenstein's prints and multiples, equally bold and cerebral, reveal a lifelong commitment to expanding the possibilities of image-making and redefining what it means to see art in the modern age.
