D’Agostino & Fiore is pleased to announce “Double Nickels On The Dime,” a group show organized by Benjamin Edmiston. A painter himself, Edmiston selected five artists and asked them to present their work alongside work by five artists of their own choosing. From this simple idea, a group show featuring ten works emerged. Edmiston’s democratic curatorial approach spurs a dialogue that will enrich viewers’ appreciation of each artist’s output and practice.

A group show that is not tied to a particular theme, medium, or genre, “Double Nickels On The Dime” highlights the interconnectedness of artistic practices. Recognizing that art-making is not a solitary endeavor, this exhibition shows artists in the roles of viewer, fan, interpreter, and student.

Taking its title from the iconic punk album by the Minutemen, this exhibition illustrates the complex results that come from a simple equation of asking five artists to select five more artists to create a group show of ten.
