More from Irving Petlin on Gallop
Donald Ryan Gallery presents early work by the American artist Irving Petlin (1934-2018): charcoal drawings and oil paintings from the 1950s and 1960s, most of them never exhibited before. The pieces draw on Symbolism, Surrealism and literature; examples include Lear on the Beach (1955) and a 1960 painting of a figure glimpsed through a four-pane window frame. The opening reception is on October 28 from 6 to 8pm.
