Sultana is pleased to present Jesse Darling's solo exhibition. This exhibition presents the works of the Turner Prize 2023, of which Jesse Darling is the winner.

Jesse Darling has often combined industrial materials such as sheet metal and welded steel with everyday objects to explore ideas of the domestic and the institutional, home and state, stability and instability, function and dysfunction, growth and collapse. Taking cues from Towner’s coastal location, Darling brings together new and recent works in an installation that explores borders, bodies, nationhood and exclusion that echo a hostile and controlling element of the built environment, with a jarring proximity to our domestic everyday.

Jesse Darling combine souvent des matériaux industriels tels que la tôle et l'acier soudés avec des objets du quotidien pour explorer les idées du domestique et de l'institutionnel, de la maison et de l'État, de la stabilité et de l'instabilité, de la fonction et du dysfonctionnement, de la croissance et de l'effondrement.

S'inspirant de la situation côtière de Towner, dans le sud de l'Angleterre, Darling rassemble des œuvres nouvelles et récentes dans une installation qui explore les frontières, les corps, la nation et l'exclusion qui font écho à un élément hostile et contrôlant de l'environnement construit, avec une proximité choquante avec notre quotidien domestique.
