The Asian Youth Leadership Organization (AYLO) is proud to present 2017 AYLO Best Of New York, a group art exhibition consisting of a multitude of artists living and working in the United States. The inaugural show is a celebration of diversity within the Asian creative community, featuring various practices and sponsoring more than 30 contemporary artists. Together, the collective is made up of first- and second-generation Asians/Asian- Americans representing the Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Filipino, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese communities. The art exhibition also aims to bring awareness to the Museum of Korean American Heritage (MOKAH), a new museum opening in New York this summer.

The list represents a unique demographic of emerging Asian contemporary artists and designers working in the United States. While there is no principal theme, the artworks in the exhibit have been selected for their ability to showcase a concentrated group of talent in every creative field. The exhibition includes a range of mediums, from more traditional forms, such as painting and sculpture, to more experimental works, such as video installations and textile pieces.

AYLO is a pan-Asian alliance that seeks to empower the next generation of Asian professionals. By fostering a diverse community that practices tolerance, respect, and cooperation, AYLO seeks to become a platform through which Asians/Asian Americans can share opportunities for advancement: opportunities to network, learn and grow within one’s chosen field or career, as well as improved access to experiences, jobs and careers that are traditionally well-guarded and difficult to attain for many Asians/Asian Americans. Until Asians are fully represented in every field, society is losing out on the talents of a vast number of potential contributors.
