Nikki Katsikas

Louis B. James is pleased to announce figurative painter Nikki Katsikas’ second solo show with the gallery, Mary & Betty’s Day at the Museum. The exhibition features Katsikas signature modestly scaled and intimately styled oil paintings, along with an artist designed wallpaper design. Katsikas’ source of subject matter begins with her process of collaging existing found imagery containing globally recognized content. Whether their sources are magazine clippings, movie stills, or art-historical images, the only connective theme is her personal interest within each found image, creating a divergence within her work that is both deeply personal and concurrently universal. Her signatures are hidden within each painting, furthering the development of personal intimacy within her otherwise palpable subjects.
