La Vitrine

Drawing from her childhood memories, Dmytrenko’s paintings delve into the realms of the collective unconscious, blending vibrant aquamarine hues and shadowy atmospheres. Her imagery of personified plants and dreamlike reflections on water resonates with echoes from her rural Ukrainian upbringing, enriched by the folklore of her homeland. Through meticulous oil brushstrokes directly onto the canvas, Dmytrenko’s enigmatic figures emerge from Venice’s lagoon canals, reflecting the city’s artistic heritage and her formal training at its renowned art academy. Through painting, the artist explores the visual expression of the subconscious, using intuitive impulses as a tool aimed at bringing up the deepest memories to transform them into composition.

Daria Dmytrenko (b. 1993 Dnipropetrovsk, UA) lives and works in Venice, IT. After her first artistic education in Dnipropetrovsk, Dmytrenko attended painting courses at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture in Kyiv (2012-15). She is currently proceeding her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally in solo exhibitions with Stems Gallery, La Vitrine, Paris, FR; Setareh, Düsseldorf, DE; Eduardo Secc, Florence, IT.
