Sydni Ann Baker

Born on Long Island in 1997 Sydni Ann Baker fell in love with painting in kindergarten. Having a traumatic childhood that includes a suicide attempt - painting was a way for Sydni Ann Baker to escape. After leaving college she went in and out of homelessness living in a shelter in New York City, in her car in Los Angeles and even in a school bus. Moving from Skid Row from her hopefully last bout of homelessness three months ago... Sydni Ann Baker now has a stable place to live and paint in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. She lives with her cat, Prince George.

Many colors are contrived to make the paintings displayed in the show. All have a vastness of emotions that show on the canvas. “Happy Again” Sydni Ann Baker’s title piece she experiments with oil giving the painting layers.

Other pieces are inspirational in itself. “If Good Things Can Happen Once They Will Happen Again Very Soon” leads to Sydni Ann Baker’s life’s testament of the good things that have come her way. “Never Ever Part 2” shows to keep on with hope and to continue on.
