Aura brings works and presences into relation, where art emerges as intensity, perception, and shared experience.
Drawn entirely from the AMA Collection, the exhibition unfolds through shifting tensions between material and immaterial, between what is seen and what is sensed.
Across the exhibition, a significant work by Ed Ruscha, conceived specifically for AMA Venezia, establishes a conceptual bridge between Venice, U.S.A. and Venezia, Italy. A live work by Tino Sehgal develops through movement and human presence, foregrounding immateriality and direct encounter. These presences resonate throughout the space alongside works by Arthur Jafa, Charles Ray, Christopher Wool, Richard Serra, Laura Owens, Jenny Saville, and others, each engaging the architectural and perceptual conditions of the space in distinct ways.
Aura invites visitors to slow down and look closely, allowing vision to become a physical, emotional, and mental experience.
About AMA Venezia
AMA Venezia is a contemporary art space located in Venice, Italy, near the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Cannaregio. The venue spans over 1,000 square meters (10,000 square feet) of exhibition space and is housed in a historically significant building.
