Will Alexander

Gern en Regalia is pleased to present Figments from the Echo House, a selection of works on paper by Los Angeles based artist and renowned poet Will Alexander. Alexander has published over twenty major works and completed over thirty books. He has received significant accolades including the Whiting Fellowship for Poetry (2001) and the Jackson Poetry Prize (2016). Alexander’s duel practices are lit with a spiritual and surreal incandescence, employing philosophical and mythological notions to illuminate themes of human rights, ecological preservation and cosmology.

Alexander’s lyrical drawings are often presented alongside his writing, but rarely on gallery walls.

This will be Alexander’s first solo exhibition of his visual works in New York.

Gern en Regalia would also like to acknowledge the work and support of Zoe Brezsny who co-organized Figments from the Echo House in conjunction with Hauser and Wirth’s Parallax: Poetic Visions reading series.

Figments from the Echo House will be on view by appointment through March 31st.
