Dörte Eißfeldt

Thomas Fischer is pleased to present the second solo exhibition by Dörte Eißfeldt within a short period of time. This time, the focus is on her series Conil, which was created in 2008.

Conil arose in the water and out of the water; it conceives of water as volume, substance, body and surface. The series shows water in maximum proximity. Instead of overview, void, distance and expanse of the sea, the images are defined by an immediacy and verticality that anchor the sea 'in snatches' between shape and abstraction.
