Photographs from the Collection of William L. Schaeffer

Hans P. Kraus Jr. shows nineteenth-century photographs, mostly American, from the collection of fellow dealer William L. Schaeffer. The selection includes western views by Carleton Watkins, William Henry Jackson and William Bell, plus early daguerreotypes and anonymous vernacular pictures such as a gentleman in a sulky with his dog and a monkey flying a kite.
