In concurrence with Craig Drennen's opening in the main gallery, a selection of recent work by Anthony Haden-Guest is exhibited in our viewing room.

Anthony Haden-Guest's cartoons embody the levity in the mundanity of everyday life in as little as a single stroke of the pen. In just a few lines or sketches, Haden-Guest is able to capture an attitude, expression, humor, and feeling about what it means to live in the contemporary world with complex feelings and relationships. A frequent contributor to major publications, Haden-Guest's drawings capture an irreverent honesty that taps into human foibles and desires.

Anthony Haden-Guest is a British writer, reporter and cartoonist, long resident in New York. His published books include True Colors: The Real Life of the Art World and The Last Party: Studio 54, Disco, and the Culture of the Night. He has frequently had shows of his cartoon work, including one at Deitch Projects, and most recently in Enough Is Nothing, a group show he curated at the art fair, Spring Break. He has published three books of cartoonery, The Chronicles of Now; In The Mean Time (published by Freight+Volume, 2010); and Fun Times. He was awarded a New York Emmy for writing and narrating the segment of the PBS documentary The Affluent Immigrants that dealt with the European influx, sometimes unkindly called Eurotrash. He is also a performer, usually in readings of his darkly comic verse, and an album of his lyrics set to music by Lorraine Leckie was issued under the title, Rudely Interrupted.
