P21 is pleased to present Eros. Eros features works from seven international artists that investigate the role of desire and eros in relation to the consumerist forces that shape them.

Haneyl Choi approaches the topic of queer identity through the metaphorical lens of sculpture. Monica Kim Garza fills the canvas, capturing the female form in its nakedness as a symbol of liberated expression. Birke Gorm employs a whimsical approach, using craft techniques while preserving the innate qualities of discarded or raw natural objects. Suyeon Kim's work captures the gaze of a painter, evoking the sensation of peering into a clandestine scene. Eunsil Lee paints the intricate energies of desire, taboo, and conflict using traditional Korean painting. Wu Jiaru immerses themselves in the concept of Mother Nature, rooted in Sumerian mythology and depicted as a paradise. Through the unique viewpoints of seven artists, including Xiyadie, who delicately cut paper to explore questions of sexuality and conventional relationships, we strive to present an extended perspective of Eros that goes beyond commonly understood notions.
