Moiety wouldn’t be Moiety if it didn’t present Maan, the second solo exhibition by Dutch artist Jordy van den Nieuwendijk.

These works were made in bed. While crying. You’ve been there. Or maybe you haven’t. Either way you probably know someone who has. A passionate lover turned insomniac - trading his muse for the moon. Nieuwendijk returns to Moiety with a series of paintings and sculptures produced in the hours after sunset. Working by moonlight the artist swaps his vibrant primary palette for a darker substitute and his still lifes for a figurative protagonist.

Jordy van den Nieuwendijk (born 1985) works and lives in The Hague, The Netherlands. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions internationally including Graphic Happiness (University Museum Of The Arts, Nanjing, China), Motor! (Nina Sagt, Düsseldorf, Germany), The Kitchen #3 (Billytown, The Hague, The Netherlands), She Lights Up The Night (Protein Gallery, London, United Kingdom).
