Artist Curated Projects is proud to present, Tandem Trips, two new bodies of work by Matthew Clifford Green.
In his second show at ACP, Green presents monochromes and one large landscape painting. Green has the reimagined paintings made several years ago by covering each with one color. Erasing most, if not all, of the paintings previous histories, we are left with the sculptural protrusions of his past actions. A final veneer that that seals in the paintings history and hides it from those who have never seen them. Green has sacrificed these paintings for the sake of a transformational experience.
In conjunction with the monochromes Green will present the first in a series of new large-scale landscapes. Using acrylic has allowed him to intensify his innate sense of rhythm, pattern, and emotion.
The paintings, together in a white room, work in tandem to create a simple meditative experience. The paintings amplify deep seated fears about the condition of being alive and of course, ultimately passing away.
