Carlos Castro Arias

Colombian artist Carlos Castro Arias, in his first solo show in Los Angeles, sets bronze busts of colonial-era figures, including conquistadores, against Indigenous basketry and beadwork from communities across Colombia. The woven baskets and bowls double as vessels for rotating produce that visitors can take freely while the show runs.
