Anthony Padilla

Another Gallery LA is pleased to present Bloom, the first West Coast solo exhibition by Anthony Padilla.

As a native artist with roots in the rural Southwest, Anthony aims to convey his deep appreciation and lifelong love of nature through his interpretation of the shapes, forms and colors created by the Earth. After moving to Brooklyn from Texas, Anthony’s work transitioned from abstract and geometric shapes to more fluid and nature-based scenes. Though not an intentional transition, each piece provides a moment of peace, for the artist and the viewer, and an opportunity to return to the nature of his memories and other scenes that inspire him.

With close-cropped images of big, bold flora and lush natural scenes as the focus of Bloom, Padilla encourages the viewer to step in and take a closer look. Native American culture emphasizes appreciating and understanding nature, with effort to live in harmony with the Earth and everything it has to offer–giving back instead of just taking. Each composition is a reminder of the beauty in the world beyond the confines of cities and screens. When you step into the forest, every direction you glance is filled with distinct features, incredible forms and figures. Bloom gently prompts the viewer to live a bit more in harmony with nature and to keep in mind how lucky we are to inhabit such a beautiful place.
