As It Stands is pleased to present Inside Fibers of the Curtain, a group exhibition.

Inside Fibers of The Curtain presents four artists who investigate the tension of being embedded in something which is fragile, malleable and also a container. This tension resonates from the interplay between the changing subject and the changing ground. It is about the looseness of seemingly rigid structures and the opportunities for the bodies they hold. Characters moving through hostile spaces, bodies warped within languages of abstraction, and landscapes on the verge of collapse populate these paintings. In their own unique practices each of these artists confronts the idea of being trapped, moved around, and adapting. Perhaps in the right place one moment, then not the next.
