Big Snack brings together the work of Cornell’s visual arts M.F.A. candidates and features an exhibition essay by artist, writer, and former visiting critic, William Powhida.

“The exhibition title, Big Snack, is part invitation and part apology alluding to the format of a group show that offers ‘a little something’ from each artist but may not leave you as satisfied as a proper dinner. Having worked with the artists, the title also captures a shared tendency for informality, directness, humor, and wonder. They share a sense of awareness and indignation about the absurdities of contemporary art and life that finds its way into their more serious formal explorations of materials, processes, identities, and histories…”
