Hold Each Other's Hands: Trans Mutual Aid, 1966-1996

Sep 1 – Dec 5, 2026

Artists: Leslie Foster, Prima Jalichandra-Sakuntabhai, Salvador de la Torre, Xixi Edelsbrunner, Wesleigh Gates, Whisper

Curated by Umi Hsu, this exhibition follows mutual aid led by transgender and gender-expansive people from the 1960s to the 1990s. Archival installations of objects, ephemera and oral histories are paired with new work by six Los Angeles artists who respond to hidden histories through speculative storytelling. It is co-presented with One Institute as part of its Circa: Queer Histories Festival.
