Ass: Any of several species of horse-like animals, especially Equus asinus, the domesticated of which are used as beasts of burden. Synonymus with Donkey.

Ass: from Middle English ars, ers, from Old English ærs, ears; akin to Old High German & Old Norse ars Greek orrhos buttocks, oura tail meaning buttocks.

Ass: Short for "Angle-Side-Side." A false axiomatic test that is incorrectly used to prove that two triangles are congruent —that is, the corresponding sides and angles of two triangles are equal.

When used with a possessive, it adds a tone of anger or disapproval to the whole sentence.

Such usage is also considered by many to be rude, vulgar and offensive, especially when it refers to the person addressed.
