Jinjoon Lee

BB&M is pleased to present Champagne Supernova, a solo exhibition by the media artist Jinjoon Lee. Shown on a 4 x 5.5-meter LED panel, the eponymous video work at the center of the exhibition takes biometric iris image data and processes it through a deep-learning-based AI super-resolution framework (CoZ) to generate an abstract sequence of light and color. Other works on view, employing diverse media, from VR theatre and hybrid collage paintings to a customized scanner turntable, examine the paradoxes of contemporary existence at the intersection of technology and art.
