More from Annabell Häfner on Gallop
In her work, Annabell Häfner explores spaces through painting, focusing on the relationship between man-made infrastructure and nature. Inspired by anthropologist Marc Augé's concept of "non-places," she delves into anonymous spaces such as airports, hotels, metro stations, and supermarkets. These transient spaces, designed solely for functionality, serve as metaphors for contemporary human experience, symbolizing the modern world's complex dynamics of time, pace, and interpersonal connections.
Annabell Häfner (b. 1993, Bonn, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. She has recently had solo exhibitions at Galerie Rüdiger Schöttle, Munich, Germany (2024), Tara Downs, New York, USA (2023), and Haus am Kleistpark, Berlin, Germany (2022).
