Karishma D'Souza & Zoe Brezsny

Kaje presents a two-person exhibition of works by poet Zoe Brezsny and painter Karishma D’Souza.

Both Brezsny and D’Souza illuminate experiences of temporal abstraction, environmental encompassment, and the contours of personal relationships. Brezsny’s poetry, recorded over soundscapes and transmitted through hemispheric sound domes, reveal the textures of nascent encounters—walking in the mall, noticing images in books, sensing ethereal radiance. In contemplative, brightly patterned watercolors and oil paintings, D’Souza examines the shifting citizenry produced by postcolonial migration, and the estranged yet connected landscapes which bear witness to it. The works trace messages passed between generations—what used to be a warning is now a memory; what used to be a memory is now a myth. Together, the exhibition considers presence, the intimacy of time, and the power of conscious visualization.
