Sarah Elise Hall

Hall's work straddles the boundary between sculpture and painting. Her slabs in blue, black and white take the shapes of mass production and consumerism which are worn down into organic abstraction through her casting process.

In Material Evidence, Hall presents a number of cast wall works of various sizes. Six medium-sized slabs and two large slabs are presented as individual variations on a common form, while a floor-to-ceiling matrix of individually cast small works create a pixelated topographical surface.

Hall holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design and an MFA from the New York Academy. Her work has been included in exhibitions in New York, Berlin, Toronto and Belgrade. She lives in Brooklyn and works in Queens.
