More from Lisa Radon on Gallop
We are pleased to present Wholeness Engine, a solo exhibition by Lisa Radon (Portland, USA).
Under consideration:
the operational potentials of a center and its polarities: squared circle squared (with gates);
the synthetic rose
material activations of the immaterial and vice versa
that which might be suggested by wave energy being transformed into turbulent kinetic energy
the micro- and macro-cosmic
a recuperation of the sun and her children
philosophical geometry
“Gatespace”
Radon’s multifaceted practice, weaving objects, poetry, and publication, digs deep by way of intuitive physics, mediating between the visible and in-. Her work engages what she calls “speculative frictions,” instances of “weird touching” between previously disparate elements and ideas, which are surfaced as matrices of objects and poems, traversing physical and digital space. Wholeness Engine will present a new body of sculptural and written work, involving an installation at the gallery space and elements made public via Jupiter Woods’ online publishing platform.
Lisa Radon has recently made work for Muscle Beach (Portland), RONGWRONG (Amsterdam), the Henry Art Gallery (Seattle), Artspeak (Vancouver, B.C.), Ditch Projects (Springfield, OR), Pied-à-terre (San Francisco), and Portland Institute for Contemporary Art. Her books include The Blind Remembrance of the Swirling Bone (Ditch Projects/Artspeak, 2015), Infinity Increaser (PICA, 2015), The Plumb and The Wave (Pied-à-terre, 2014), and Prototyping Eutopias (2013). She lives in Portland, Oregon.
Wholeness Engine is kindly supported by The New Foundation in Seattle and Arts Council England.
