Air de Paris is pleased to announce the fourth solo exhibition by American artist Rob Pruitt entitled You Get the Face You Deserve.
Since 1998, Rob Pruitt (born 1964, Washington DC) has been using the motif of panda in a desire of constant repetition. Initially conceived as a form of humor, this refrain is at the same time the answer to a multiplicity of emotions, sensitivities, but also the mediatization of a species in the process of extinction whose encounter was intimately political. Indeed, the Chinese government offered in 1972 two pandas to the Nixon White House in Washington DC where Rob Pruitt grew up, an event that participated in his natural fascination for this animal. We will celebrate next year the first thirty years of the «Pandas» series, and as long as it continues, it is also the sign that this animal survives.
Rob Pruitt (born 1964 in Washington DC) lives and works in New York. In 2018, the Kunsthalle Zurich will dedicate him a monographic exhibition curated by Daniel Baumann. His works were recently exhibited in solo shows at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, The Brant Foundation, Greenwich, Aspen Art Museum, and Palais de Tokyo. One of his most iconic projects, Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market, was recently held in Palm Springs Art Museum (2017), Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (2015), AplusA Gallery, Venice (2015), La Monnaie de Paris (2012), Tate Modern (2009).

Air de Paris est heureuse d’annoncer la quatrième exposition personnelle de l’artiste américain Rob Pruitt, intitulée You Get the Face You Deserve.
