Tianyue Zhong

Another Gallery LA is pleased to present A Momentary Playground by Tianyue Zhong.

In her debut solo show, Tianyue explores time, movement and emotionality. Building layers of paint and paper upon each other, she draws a metaphorical connection between the interior and exterior human experience. Unshackled by narrative, the artist expresses that a single experience can be interpreted through the lens of multiple events, sentiments, memories and implosions. Experience is portrayed as a prism as time travels through to create multiple entities related to one single moment in time. Tianyue encourages her viewers to take note of the multidimensional nature of existence, and stay in the moment just a little while longer.

The paintings transform from an image to an inward and outward vehicle for the viewers. Life must always move forward; however, it is not limited to also moving over, around, under, in-between. These movements pulse back and forth informing the human experience, constantly oscillating between: tension and release, close and far, intimacy and estrangement. Her colors and textures encourage playfulness within this sometimes painful means of transportation through life while abstract interpretations and figurative glimpses urge the viewer to take pleasure in the complications she presents.
