Arts Council of Wales has commissioned exhibitions at the International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, nine times since 2003 - the last time being Sean Edwards’s exhibition Undo Things Done in 2019. Following the global pandemic, in 2022 ACW paused its participation and launched Wales Venice 10, a combination of ten individual fellowships for those working in the visual arts, and commissions through Artes Mundi and Disability Arts Cymru. In 2025 there was a renewed commitment by Arts Council of Wales to showcase Welsh art at the world-renowned Venice Biennale in 2026, and future editions in 2028 and 2030.
Arts Council of Wales is pleased to announce that Manon Awst and Dylan Huw were selected to lead a new project to represent Wales in Venice as a Collateral Event at the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, 2026.
