AMA Venezia

AMA Venezia is a contemporary art space located in Venice, Italy, near the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Cannaregio. The venue spans over 1,000 square meters (10,000 square feet) of exhibition space and is housed in a historically significant building. The site dates back to the famous 1500 plan of Venice by Jacopo de Barbari and was once a factory with multiple furnaces, later transformed into Venice’s soap factory. TA Torsello Architettura, specialists in architectural restoration, did the transformation of this disused space into a state-of-the-art exhibition venue. The restoration balances Venetian heritage with modern artistic innovation, providing a dynamic platform for contemporary artists.
