Von 1983 bis 1990 war Volker Diehl Partner in der Berliner Galerie von Folker Skulima und vertrat Künstler wie Leiko Ikemura, Jaume Plensa, Ray Smith, Rosemarie Trockel und Martin Assig, 1990 übernahm er den Raum in der Niebuhrstraße 2 in Berlin-Charlottenburg und benannte die Galerie in Galerie Volker Diehl um.
