general solidarity statement: haul gallery was founded with inherently political values: pragmatic anti-capitalism with a focus on making art non-reliant on extreme wealth. Alongside those values, haul’s two sole organizers (Erin Davis and Max C Lee) approach this project with their own ideals: working locally, strengthening mutual aid, and working for the liberation of oppressed people everywhere, as best as we can. We oppose gentrification, genocide (haul is committed to BDS and PACBI guidelines), racism, colonialism and all other forms of systemic oppression. We are not focused on purity or performative gestures. We attempt a variety of tactics and use what works. We don’t often issue public statements about the ongoing crises across the world. There are so many crises that issuing a statement about every single one becomes unhelpful.
