Our picks

Group show: Edge Zones 30th Anniversary Exhibition

Edge Zones Contemporary Art, Galleries · Through Nov 7

Miami artists with ties to the nonprofit contribute paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, and interdisciplinary works to this thirtieth-anniversary group exhibition. Every work is included in a silent benefit auction for the organization's artist programs.

Elmer O. García, Olga Kusche-Iglesias: The Porch

Bakehouse Art Complex, Galleries · Through Apr 16

García and Kusche-Iglesias' outdoor aluminum-tubing structure recasts a triumphal arch as a Miami porch. Reconfigured lawn-chair parts provide shade and seating, while its patterns echo local security grilles.

Group show: Masters of the Museum: From Myth to Motion

Gary Nader Art Centre, Galleries · Through Nov 30

The show gathers works from the Nader Museum collection by fourteen Latin American artists, Diego Rivera, Wifredo Lam and Fernando Botero among them. Five themes, from myth and ritual to color and movement, replace a timeline.

Dirk Salz: Dissolving Boundaries

Diana Lowenstein Gallery, Galleries · Through Nov 7

Salz pairs glossy, gradated-color shaped works from his multishapes series with earlier pieces from 2020 to 2022. The color shifts with light and viewpoint.

Last chance

Ines Silva: Rhythms of Geometry

Durban Segnini Gallery, Galleries · Closed Oct 30

Silva’s Plexiglas reliefs, columns, folding screens, and suspended structures combine geometry with transparency, color, and movement. Their mathematical schemes include the golden ratio, Fibonacci spiral, and Le Corbusier’s Modulor, and the pieces are made to be walked around.

Joanna van Son: 2025 Artist-in-Residence

Rubell Museum, Museums · Closed Nov 1

Van Son’s six paintings distort familiar forms and attend to the shifting textures and sensitivities of skin. The artist’s tactile process uses layering and erasure and addresses the boundaries of figuration.
