Mark Tambella’s ‘body of painting’ encompasses a body of expressionistic landscape, portrait work, still life and features imagined groups of people in moments of energetic activity. It attempts through these subjects to inspire a kind of spiritual curiosity, like decoding and reassembling a dream.

Combined with these imaginings are live portraits of people from the neighborhood and from everyday life. They are work mates from La MaMa, friends and children of friends. The work is simply about painting and its ability to embrace and represent the energy of life.
