More from Kira Scerbin on Gallop

It’s the cicadas in August. That sound, that all day surge of dissonance. Full throttle throating, but it’s ribs buckling. Working, working so hard at projecting. It’s an automatic assimilation from the ground baby. A resurrection that is clean and squeaky, like yellow, like bilirubin. This is really good grief. Nothing from nothing. Hole on hole. Proffered to oblivion.
