Frederieke Taylor Gallery and Franco Mondini-Ruiz invite you to “New York and New Yorkers” a 30 day salon of commissioned portraits painted live and on the spot. The show will feature paintings on paper, all viewed from a unique and particularly romantic New York City lense.

If you enjoy a glass or two of Prosecco, Chinatown morsels, music, and beauty, come by and be first to have your portrait done, or even make an appointment for later. Conveniently opening in time for Mother’s day, you can also bring in a picture of a loved one and have it transformed into a painted portrait. Starting at $500 for a painting, Franco Mondini-Ruiz’s portraits come in a variety of sizes and are very accessible and affordable; all portraits receive unique and witty titles. While painting, Mondini-Ruiz will entertain you with tales from the likes of his Tex-Mex background, the San Antonio social scene, experiences selling his wares at the 2000 Whitney Biennial or even his stay in Rome in 2004 after receiving the prestigious Rome Prize.

The exhibition is a month long performance, with Franco Mondini-Ruiz as the main entertainer.
