Charlie Engelman

Pietro Alexander is pleased to present Prop Pile Bloom, an exhibition of new works by Charlie Engelman. Engelman interweaves the contours of support structures, both architecturally and anatomically inspired, in sculptures of high-density foam, cast aluminum, and old-growth redwood. These distinct mediums share a formal language across materiality; lush surface textures blur the boundary where a sculptural edge meets the rest of the world. Prop Pile Bloom is Engelman's debut solo exhibition in New York, and his first with the gallery.
